Tonight I learned svelte.js and upgraded my personal blog. I don't enjoy using existing forms of social media infrastructure and have tried to create a presence on my own. I used to be enamoured with the ideology of 1mb websites and minimalism in web design. In the end I never updated my site because it was too clunky to copy and paste swathes of plain html and css. Having an actual programming language at my disposal means that I iterate a lot quicker. It's much more enjoyable.

Right now I don't have a washing machine, but I have really grown to love doing laundry. The walk to the coin laundry, the soap scented room, the whir of machines, the act of loading and unloading. It's shared infrastructure in its purest form.
